New Associate Director (Ongoing Formation) for the Canadian Religious Conference

As 2019 begins, the CRC is delighted to welcome Ms. Sabrina Di Matteo as Associate Director, Ongoing Formation.

Following graduate studies in Theology at the Université de Montréal, Ms. Di Matteo worked for five years in communication and pastoral formation for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Montreal. Since 2012, she has served as Director at the Centre étudiant Benoît-Lacroix, a Francophone chaplaincy for university students and young professionals in Montreal.

Ms. Di Matteo has served as Board Chair of the Canadian Catholic Chaplains Association and of Communications et Société (formerly the Canadian Catholic Conference of Bishops Social Communications Office – Francophone Sector). Currently, she is both a columnist and chairs the Board of Présence – information religieuse, a Francophone religious news service. A member of the Conseil Église et Société, of the Quebec Assembly of Catholic Bishops, she is also active in the interfaith Christian-Muslim women’s group “Maria’M” of the Centre justice et foi. She is a regular guest on Radio VM, and has extensive experience in the media and as a facilitator for academic and pastoral events.

Within the CRC, Ms. Di Matteo will coordinate the Ongoing Formation sector and its initiatives in the fields of theology, spiritual life and governance, as well as the creation of resources relevant to the needs of religious congregations and members across Canada.

About the CRC and the Ongoing Formation Department

The Canadian Religious Conference is an association that brings together the leaders of 240 Catholic congregations of women and men religious in Canada. The CRC’s mission is to encourage its members to live fully their vocation in following Christ and to support them in their prophetic witness to justice and peace in a Canadian context.

The office of Ongoing Formation offers theological and spiritual resources to assist religious and their associates in their commitments to Church and society. It organizes training sessions, workshops and retreats.
