Fr. Xavier Jeyaraj, SJ, will talk about the alarming transformation of democracy in the world with the election of authoritarian regimes into office. His presentation will focus on India, the world’s largest democracy, with parallels drawn with changes taking place in Latin America, Asia, Africa and North America. Fr. Xavier will also speak of how justice, equality, human rights, and “development for all” are being redefined by authoritarian governments all over the world.
