The Family of the Holy Cross co-signs a corporate stand on climate change
The four general councils of the Congregations that form the religious Family of Holy Cross co-signed a corporate stand on climate change. This joint corporate stand is the result of two years of work by the Holy Cross International Justice Office who had chosen climate change as a priority for the religious of Holy Cross. This declaration commits the four Congregations who have more than 2800 members working in 19 countries on 5 continents, to give “hands and feet” to this act of solidarity where they live and work. The four Congregations are: the Sisters of the Holy Cross, whose general administration is at Notre Dame, Indiana, the Fathers and Brothers of Holy Cross, whose general administration is in Rome, Italy, the Marianites of Holy Cross, whose general administration is in Louisiana, United States and the Sisters of Holy Cross, whose general administration is in Montreal, Quebec. Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC)The CRC’s Mission Statement calls upon the religious men and women of Canada to serve as prophetic signs in the world by living out the challenges of the Gospel in a radical manner. Our three specific commitment areas are: Peace, Justice, and the Integrity of Creation.
